Headquarters renovation for cooperative Fraternità

Fraternità is an Italian cooperative that provides socio-educational services and employs people living in fragile contexts to promote social justice.

Our challenge was to renovate three of their facilities in Bologna, integrating Fraternità’s values and activities into the design. The aim was to strike a balance between productive growth and environmental impact and local and social development.

The first project is the Mercatale and Parco Agricolo headquarters, which we have completely renovated and extended. The new management and production headquarters are surrounded by the new Agricultural Park. This includes extensive cycling, walking and educational trails, as well as 26,000 square metres of fruit and vegetable plantations.

The Casa Famiglia is a new family house that provides 4 safe and efficient living units for a total of 1100 square metres. The house, located near the Idice River, has both individual and communal areas and plenty of green space.

The new operational headquarters in Zola Predosa houses the recycling centre with workshop and shop space, training centre, work and residential services. We have completely redesigned it to transform it from a grey, industrial area into a pleasant, sustainable and green workplace. The headquarters rely on 2460 square metres of solar panels.
